Anon Sony Exec Blows Whistle on Britain’s Got Talent

There have been many accusations thrown at Simon Cowell. From riding Cheryl Cole to being the anti-christ we all usually laugh these off with a wink and a nudge to the legendary music mogul. Even claims of fixing his shows like the X-Factor and Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) are usually dismissed as part of the business by anyone who knows the media world. However some new allegations have come to light that blow everyting that has come before out of the water. An anonymous Sony executive has posted an open letter on line describing the length to which Simon, and his company SYCO, will (allegedly) go to wring every last drop of blood from a fresh act.

The act in question is 12 year old Ronan Parke.

Here is that letter in full:

“For reasons which will become obvious, I can’t reveal my full identity.  But let me just say that, I am an executive with Sony Music UK with many years experience in music mangement.   My work involves close liasion with Simon Cowell’s SYCO company (specifically SYCO Music and SYCO TV) and, as a result, I have seen what goes on from the inside and this has left  me increasingly uncomfortable about the integrity of Britain’s Got Talent and particularly the workings of SYCO. It’s My Party And I’ll Throw Faeces If I Want To

So, it’s nearly here. The day I have been dreading. Tomorrow morning I will awaken, no longer in my twenties. I will be 30 years old.

It’s a terrifying age to be. All prior landmark birthdays are cause to celebrate because we spend so many years wishing to be older and now I reach the first where I wish I was young. At least when you hit 40 you should be well prepared for Death’s cold hand reaching for your shoulder for that really is the end of all things (see blog ten years from now for info).

Anyway, I have spent my day looking for reasons turning 30 is a good thing and I can find very little apart from unencouraging shite such as ‘you are an adult’ and ‘you can start living now’. Thanks, here’s me thinking I was a dead child. Continue reading “It’s My Party And I’ll Throw Faeces If I Want To”

Hidden Homoereoticism: Top 5 Unintentionally Gay Movie Scenes

We all know there are plenty of gay films out there (Brokeback Mountain, My Own Private Idaho, Rocky V) but it seems there are some that are still in the closet. I was watching Wall Street last night and I was quite disturbed to see a few homoerotic scenes between Bud Fox and Gordon Gecko and this got me wondering how many films have such unintentional(?) gay undertones.

After a (rather disturbing) bit of research here are the top five unintentionally homoerotic scenes in film in order of gayness: Continue reading “Hidden Homoereoticism: Top 5 Unintentionally Gay Movie Scenes”

Nerd Do Very Well

While sitting watching my favourite programme last night I was given some shocking news. It takes a lot to distract me from the fantastic ‘Wonders of the Universe’ on BBC HD but this was hard to ignore. Apparently Professor Brian Cox is a hottie.

Now Professor Cox is a legend. He has brought Physics to the masses by making it accessible without dumbing it down but I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard that women all over the country were tuning in for other reasons than learning about the cosmos.

This got me thinking about the nature of attraction and celebrity. Does fame allow for sexual prowess not seen in everyday folk? Let’s take a look at some other celebs that have become the most unlikely of sex symbols: Continue reading “Nerd Do Very Well”
